Although Fire departments (often known localy as Service des Incendies) in the canadian province of Quebec are organised at the municipal level and independent from one another, many aspect of their uniforms, most notably the rank insignias follow the same pattern throughout the province.

This has, in turn, lead to some paramedic and emergency organisation within the province to adopt similar rank insignias and titles.

Below are the standard form taken by fire departments in the province. Only a few departments have been observed with anything added to them such as "Prevention".

Not every fire department uses all ranks if the size of the department did not warrant it.

Fireman without ranks generally do not wear any shoulder slides.
