the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, more commonly known as the Nazi Party, was a German political party that existed between 1920 and 1945 during which time it ruled germany from 1933 until the end of World War 2.

As many party of its era, it adopted early on a paramilitary hierarchy and uniforms which underwent a number of changes over the following years

The first system of ranks used by the Nazis between 1926-1930 consisted of between 0-3 white horizontal lines displayed behind the central circle and going around the arm. The small size of the party at the time did not require a more elaborate system.
