Navy Nurse Corps (United States of America)

The Navy Nurse Corps was founded in 1908 to provide trained nurses to medical installations of the US Navy. Altough wearing uniforms, the nurses only officially received the status of commissioned officers after 1941.

Depending on their duties, the nurses wore various uniform including a duty one made of a navy blue jacket, skirt and hat over a white shirt. gold cuff rings indicated ranks.
