The AWVS was an all-female volunteer organisation frounded shortly before the entry of the United States into the second world war to provided surport services to the armed forces. It operated canteen, transport services, war fund collection as well as training its members for potential attacks on home soil.

The organisation was disbanded at the end of the war as it was felt to be no longer needed.

Insignias Edit

Members wore coloured hat bands, collar patches and embroided title-name patches to indicate their place within local chapters or the organisation as a whole. Members of the Motor Transport Service however used military-type insignias and titles.
